The competitors qualified for the Exodus Cycles Pro Quad Shootout by virtue of entering the OOM event at Lakeville the previous Sunday.
The Shootout paid the standard OOM Pro purse of $500 to the top six and $200 to win, but racers agreed to mix up the starting order to give fans the best show possible. The top two from the qualifier agreed to start on the third row, and the remaining riders were put in starting position by way of a random redraw.
Quads were first out for hot laps in the program and had expected a difficult track surface, since it was prepared expressly for stock car racing. After numerous heats and few consolation events for the cars, the quad riders were very excited about conditions of the 3/8 mile oval. The racing line exceeded expectations, with a good bit of rubber down, and moisture in the track by nightfall set the stage for a great race.

Millersburg’s Trent Kandel also climbed through the field, advancing to fourth place on lap two, behind the SC Racing Apparel & Parts sponsored Yamaha, ridden by Derek Davis of Dresden. Brokaw closed in on Sheldon, trying the high line at one end of the track, and hugging the bottom at the other, as the two battled for the point. Brokaw made the pass on lap five, and then Sheldon came under fire from Davis in a battle for second.

Sheldon made his #04 as wide as possible for two laps, but Kandel made the pass on the last lap, and Hart followed into third.
Matt Brokaw took his second consecutive OOM feature win, with Kandel, Hart, Sheldon and Davis rounding out the top five. Millersuburg’s Travis Raber put on a good show riding the Tarrat Motorsports Yamaha to a sixth place finish from a second row starting position.
