Thats me. I used to race until I forgot why I was doing it. Now that I've had some time to mature and do pretty much everything else I thought I was missing out on all those years, I realize that racing is all I really want to do all the time. So that said, I guess ill be seeing you guys out there soon.. once I rob a bank that is, so I can afford to get back into this way of life. I remember a time back in the 80's at my first race at the old tea garden in salem when it was like $3 to get in and $10 to race haha.. ahh the good old days

Welcome Ryan...you don't need to rob a bank. Just buy a ride that's 3-4 yrs old, and have at it :). Are you a quad rider or a bike rider? (not that it matters one way or the other...we don't discriminate here. I'm just curious)

welcome ryan, thanks for joining.

i would think about what lee said, find ya a used ride and go from there. might be able to find one that might have some goodies and still beat a new ride price.

we have both quad and bike ppl here so its all good.

quad rider.. never really got into bikes.. i like the feeling of dedicating yourself and not being able to put a foot down if things go bad lol.. kind of an extra rush for me.. not hating on bikes, in fact they scare me more than quads do, i just prefer a couple extra wheels.. and as far as getting what i used to have, it wouldnt be competitive anymore unless i dumped some big money into it (z400) .. i have this problem, you might be able to classify it with gambling and substance abuse but most people just say im too competitive. everything in my life is a race or a gamble even if its as simple as finishing a meal before everyone else. 1st place is my drug lol.. keeps me busy i guess.. im rambling now.. see even writing more than the other guy on the forums is competition lol .. just kidding.. im not that bad.. or am i?

either way im in europe right now but will be back just in time for the big game turkey run.. only watching of course but ill be there to cheer you guys on, in a nice dry warm coat, while everyone else is splashing through bogs of muddy slush... i get chills just thinking about those winter races

Well, I'm scared of quads...when you crash a quad, it comes alive and hunts you down. When it catches you, it then does its best to pound you to pulp. At least if you crash a bike it just lays there (unless you loop out on a hill...then you're screwed no matter what you're riding).

hahahah i dont think anyone could have put that any better.

im scared of high speed.. or hell even medium speed turns on a bike.. it slides all friendly at first and then the back tire gives you an evil grin just before it switches to devil mode and catapults you.. the thought of being a human cannonball keeps me from rolling on the throttle around turns on a bike.. unless its a rut, than its more fun than anything i can think of. But now that i think of it, it would be fun to master the art of riding that fine line when your sideways.. hmm

When it starts to slide just don't chop the throttle entirely. Ease off it till the back end comes back to you, then gently roll it on again. either that or twist it some more so it doesn't catch traction, and just flat track around the corner
